A narrative driven design process. A spaceship we designed and constructed around a narrative we wrote for a designing science fiction project. Along with illustrations, we presented a 1:1000 scale model. The model was constructed around a steel frame and had components wired throughout it. The centrifugal wheel located at the back of the ship turned on a motor along with LED’s that lit up the main fuselage. The more detailed components of the ship were constructed using digital fabrication methods such aslaser cutting and 3D printing. We scavenged components from old cellphones and cameras to decorate the panels and add to the realism of the model.
