sand cast handle

Becoming familiar with sand-casting as a process: The task was to design and manufacture a handle using various casting processes including lost wax casting. The handle was casted in sand from aluminium and later finished on the linisher then a cut out made using the milling machine. I displayed the handle on an old Rimu floor board in which I inlayed aluminium strips to represent a drawer.
